Biological activity:
Scoparone (6,7-dimethoxycoumarin,Aesculetindimethylether,6,7-Dimethylesculetin,Escoparone) is a natural organic compound extracted from the Chinese herbal medicine Artemisia annua.
Chemical properties:
White or yellow-white needle-like crystals. Melting point 144℃. Easily soluble in chloroform, acetone, ethanol solution and sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, insoluble in petroleum ether and water. Odorless, bitter taste.
Use:
Used as intermediates in organic synthesis. This product is also a medicine that has antiasthmatic, expectorant and antitussive effects.
